NESN Clubhouse: What We Learned

On Sunday’s episode of NESN Clubhouse, young Red Sox fans celebrated Wally the Green Monster’s birthday with a few special guests. The Oriole Bird, Mr. Met, Blades the Bruin and Stomper the elephant all headed down to Yawkey Way to wish Wally a happy birthday.

This week, Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. taught everyone how to catch a fly ball over the shoulder, and fans learned more about what the grounds crew at Fenway Park does.

In the midst of rainy spring weather, young baseball fans also learned what happens to a baseball when it gets waterlogged, and also learned how to properly fuel up before a game.

Fans also learned all about how to record a team’s lineup, and got to know a little bit more about Stomper, the Oakland Athletics’ mascot. Xander Bogaerts took some tough questions from young Red Sox fans, and kids learned how to stump their parents with a bit of trivia about the Pesky Pole.

All in all, it was a fun-filled day!
