Major League Baseball has been getting festive for the Fourth of July with stars and stripes on the players’ uniforms, just like the American flag.
However, during the rest of the season, players aren’t allowed to put flags on their gloves.
Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Alex Cobb wasn’t a big fan of this rule, as his brother is a captain in the U.S. Army, and he wanted to honor him. That’s when Wilson Sporting Goods stepped in and made Cobb a patriotic glove he could use in the bullpen.
