Small Talk: David Ortiz Reveals His Favorite Superheroes

In this week’s edition of “Small Talk,” Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz answers the big questions from little kids.

1. Who is the best dancer on the Red Sox?
Right now it’s definitely gotta be me. When it comes down to salsa, remember that.

2. Have you ever been bitten by a snake?
I’m afraid of snakes. They scare me always.

3. Do you speak any other languages?
That’s good. Learn as many languages as you can because they’re going to help you out in the long run. Me? I speak Spanish (my first language); English, I’m still learning. But they get complicated because sometimes I have to go from Spanish to translate to English and it takes me longer.

4. Where is the Dominican Republic?
Ah, si, I was born in the Dominican Republic, which is right next to Puerto Rico.

5. Have you ever been to the Boys & Girls Club?
Of course I have been to the Boys & Girls Club, and it’s something that all of us need to be aware of. It’s a good idea to be a pitcher when you grow up so you can teach kids how to do that.

6. Who is your favorite superhero?
Captain America. I like Batman — and Superman. And Spider-Man. Hey, I like all of them.
